SPRINGFIELD — Lincoln Land Community College will honor veterans at its 30th annual Veterans Day Ceremony on Tuesday, Nov. 11. The ceremony begins at 12:30 p.m. in A. Lincoln Commons on the 91Ƭ-Springfield campus, 5250 Shepherd Road, and a reception will follow. The public is invited to attend.
Scouting America Troop 310 from Chatham will post the colors. The program includes Rep. Wayne Rosenthal, 91Ƭ Board of Trustees Chair and retired Brigadier General, Illinois Air National Guard, serving as master of ceremonies; Sgt. Grant Durham, 91Ƭ student and United States Army Veteran providing remarks; 91Ƭ Student Trustee Addy Blimling presenting the wreath; Dawon Drew, 91Ƭ student, singing the national anthem; and Charles Walker, 91Ƭ student, playing “Taps.”
The Veterans Day Ceremony is sponsored by 91Ƭ Student Engagement and Wellbeing and honors all veterans including 91Ƭ faculty, staff and students who served in the armed forces.
